The e-Angels Group evolved from membership in a support group where we met and continued to communicate through e-mails.  Thus, we call our children our e-Angels…our children whom we have lost…our “e-mail children” who are now Angels.  All of us lost our only child and we now number over a dozen bereaved Mothers.  Some of us started on our grief journey more than six years ago, while for others it has been less than a year.  No matter how long or short the time has passed since we lost our precious children, we have found such strength, comfort and understanding among the group.  We feel totally free to say exactly how we feel.  We talk about our children, our own feelings, our health problems, etc., and we gain such great benefit from discussing spiritual and religious issues.

            We hold firm to our faith and believe that it is virtually impossible to travel our grief journey without talking about God and his Son and how our children are in Heaven now…safe, warm, free from pain.  We believe that we will be reunited with them some day.  We talk about our personal beliefs, not telling others what they should believe, but what we ourselves personally believe.  In the e-Angels Group we share our thoughts on subjects such as what we think Heaven is like, will our children recognize us when we get there and will we recognize them…we believe they will not have aged so we will know them right away.  We sometimes quote the Scriptures and when we have questions about what some verses mean, there is always a member of our group who does a wonderful job of answering our questions.

            The e-Angels Group has found that the more we communicate with each other, we find more and more parallels or coincidences in our lives and the lives of our children.  A talk show host once said, “Coincidences are God creating miracles anonymously.”  Well put.  We feel that God created a miracle by bringing us together in this very special group…and also that our children definitely had a hand in this too. 

We would like to invite other bereaved parents to join our group.  We keep an up-to-date directory of our members listing the Mother’s name, Father or stepfather, the name(s) of their child, date of child’s birth, child’s Angel Date (date of death), age at which their child died, cause of death, their e-mail address, home address and phone number (these last two are optional).  We also ask our members to include the Mother’s birthday…they can leave out the year if they don’t want to tell their age!  When there is a revision or addition to our e-Angels Group directory, we e-mail a new one to all our members. 

We would like to stress two things.  One, all the members of the e-Angels Group are Mothers who have lost their only child or all their children…we have NO surviving children.  Two, our spiritual and religious discussions are not “heavy”; they are expressions of our personal beliefs and we do not “push” those beliefs on others.  If you would like to join our group, please send an e-mail with the information outlined in the paragraph above to Judy Foster at judybfoster@mindspring.com.  We will then add you to our directory.  We each put the e-mail addresses for the members of the e-Angels Group in a group address in our own personal e-mail address books and when we send an e-mail, it goes out to all.  However, if you want to send an e-mail to only one individual that is perfectly O.K. if you just first ask that person if they want to receive individual e-mails.
